M15 +SBS | East Harlem to South Ferry, Manhattan

Fare Inspectors are shown here. Some did got caught fare evading, others are ok

Overview:

These people (wearing MTA NYCT coats and/or vest) are at random spots at different times and day at a +Select Bus Stop (Bx12, M15, M34/A). They check for your receipt (Proof of Payment) to see if you have paid your fare or not.

If you paid your fare and show a POP, your good to go. If you didn't pay or you passed 2 hours time limit, you will be asked to leave the bus, and may get fined for payment failure at a +SBS vending machine, or passing the 2 hr limit . The Fine is $100. (Recently as of Jan 2012, there is plans for now $500 fines for fare beaters, check your local New York news channel and the MTA.info site).

Personally, I rarely see an inspector. This would be the 4th time I see inspectors on any SBS route. They are usually found at major locations and terminals, like here. BUT RANDOM LOCATION! They can't do every stop or it ill delay the bus, like in the clip.

PAY YOUR FARE, DON'T FARE BEAT. Or risk paying a FINE. Its only 2.25 / 1.10(Dis/Senior) for a ride (Unless you have a transfer or Unlimited MetroCard). Pay like rest of us! Dare to not pay and may get summed up with $100 or more?

this is crazy ive been Bx12 SBS one time i missed it because it was crowded and the next bus i,ve been suprised that the Fare inspectors were on the bus tell everyone to show the reciept before getting on the bus

Same with MTA Light Rail. Its so opened freely many can board @ random. But at peak hours they are seen regularly Downtown. I right life is easier n cheaper 2 pay it fare

They need to come to the BX12 Select bus service everyday cuz a lots of people dosen't paid

the fare.
