Just did the repair on my 2002 Sebring, great video. Only problem is now Chrsler has changed the resistor design so it will not fit in the original. The new resistor control is wider than the original. ( I checked the dealer was told this is a better design) In order to get it to fit you need to grind out the opening to make it fit. Dremel works great for this. Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the great video. I did found the resistor but wasn't sure it was it before this video (i did have answer from finnish chrysler forum, but without picture or any specific information).

An addendum for those with automatic climate control: Skip Advance and O'Reilly - Amazon sells the Mopar OEM part for $60. it's Mopar part number 04885482AC.

This is great -- thank you. Indeed, automatic climate control uses a different, more expensive BWD RU1093, $72.99 at Advance Auto parts or O'Reilly. A post on a different message board mentioned that this replacement kills the AUTO HI/LOW capability in the climate-control system (there are 4 connectors on the OEM and only 3 on the BWD replacement). I called the local dealership and they have the OEM part in stock for $98.

I was wondering if you think this would fix the problem I am having with my 2004 caravan. Everything works as far as the fan speeds but the problem I am having is the heat. It works fine while driving but stops blowing hot air when you come to a stop or idle. The blower still blows air but turns cool when stopped. Any help would be Very appreciated. Its getting cold and I have 5 kiddos and a wife thats none to happy with hubby for not getting it fixed.
I suspect I may be having blower resistor issues on my 2009 Ford Focus. It seems when the AC is on after a minute or 2 the blowers stop working. As well as when the temperature knob is on the blue side. And when the blower settings are on either 3 or 4 the blowers stop working after a half a minute to a minute no matter what temperature they are on. Someone said it may be a radiator related issue and I read the blower resistor could be the issue.

@MrWill1985 That's a strange problem. Sounds like something is getting too hot, or is now loose. Good luck!

diamond12612 -- I would take out the resistor again -- look to see if something got bent or damaged. Perhaps it was screwed in too tight. Or if the resistor pack is in contact with something it probably should not be. Then I would replace the wire harness and see if it works now. If that didn't work, I would try the old resistor pack and see if that works as well as it did before. Good luck!

I have been driving around with my 2003 dodge caravan having the blower only working on full for about 3 weeks now. After I watched this video I went out and got the part from Napa and was able to install it myself while my husband was at work. I am so thankful for this video. Great job and very easy to follow.

I'm glad you were able to get that fixed. We were in that many-weeks-with-only-high too.

I replaced the resistor today, The fan is working just fine. I have a 2001 Town and Country LXi with digital climate control, I am getting only cold air on the passenger side regardless of the temperature that I set but the driver side works fine, Any Ideas?
