Adam Tablet and HTC Magic GPS comparison.

I'm trying to pin down why GPS Navagation does not work in the Adam tablet.
I have installed GPS Tester from Notion Ink and GPS Status from the Android Market.

First thing I would like to point out is that my camera will not focus while recording so I had to make it a bit nearsighted. (I have yet to install the CHDK)

From GPS Tester you can see there is a time difference that corresponds to my GMT-7hr offset. Also using GPS Status we can see the magnetic field sensor on the Adam is way off! This can fluctuate from 150 to 2600! I have had my phone near some really strong magnetic fields, but this takes the cake.

"While the vid was uploading I thought I would try some diffident time and GMT offset combinations to see if I could get the time to display correctly. While doing so I cold started the GPS modual and restarted the Adam. I then spent the next 40min trying to get the GPS to find more than one satellite! After several cold starts and resets it started to work again. Man is that GPS dicey!

Nothing I did managed to change the displayed time."
