Ninja 250 - Stuck Ignition Switch

Tried WD40, Lithium, cleaned barrel with solvent, heated key, moved around steering, got key cut again (Duplicate, no key code). :( Nothing seems to work.

@Twolvez (sorry, posting via phone). Basically I gave up and installed a new one. It wasn't ridiculously hard but it took a while and was relatively expensive at $250 for a new switch. If you need a hand I'm happy to give you more details. :)

I found this on another forum

"hey man what i did was, right you when start to put your key in the ignition, you put just a little bit of your key..maybe about 3/16 of an inch in there and turn the key around in a circle and it moves this piece and then stick your key in there and it should move to the "on" position"

Mines work after trying that.

i need to replace my whole ignition,gas cap,and trunk lock becuase i lost the key,i had orderd new locks but now im having huge trouble on how to take out the ignition and put in the new one,and its super hard becuase they have factory bolts that are specially made to hold it down the ignition in the motorcycle,so i may have to drill them and use standard screws after from then on,an dont even know if there is a way i can unlock the seat unless maybe i call pop-a-lock 2 pick lock it open for me

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the exact same problem. I rode it the night before and everything was fine. But when I came out first thing the next morning, it wouldn't click to the "on" position. What did you do???
