Lego Robot: 'Bot v.1.9' part III

This is the final piece of my video-documentary for 'Bot v.1.9'. This segment records the bot climbing 3 obstacles which range in height from a half-inch (~20% of wheel diameter) to almost 3 inches (~65% of wheel diameter) and bot is able to climb everything with ease.

i agree, this is very slow and im currently working to improve that, and a host of other problems this bot had.  see the below comment of mine for some things to come.

im always up for a challenge, but if its pure climbing then thats not what this bot is designed to do. lets see you replicate ALL of its mechanical functions mr. 11-year-old-robotics-student.

you need to mod this with diffs (that you can lock), a transmission that keeps the low gear but has a faster gear and another faster gear not all crawl gears.

YES!

I am actually in the process of doing those exact modifications, as well as a few others. I've created locking, R/L biased, diffs for the F/R as well as changed the t-case to 6-speed with 1 MUCH lower L gear and 1 significantly higher H gear. It will also be 6WD with tracks in the middle on a hydraulic suspension. Also, the F/R ends will swivel 360d in the saggital plane, much like the four-for steering in the above version. Improved frame and engines too.

that car is so cool to look at but when u see it drive :S My cars can usually climb about 100-150% of the wheel diameter.
