@thesoundcanal everyday to make a better audio. At first it sounds good but when I'm starting to master it starts to sound weird. I think it might be because I don't have a very good reverb, or I don't know how to master correctly. I've been recording and mastering for about 6/7 years and there is always something new to learn. I use Cubase SX, it's really complicated if you ask me... But thank you for your answer! :)

@thesoundcanal Alright, thank you. :) We seem to have the same settings on the mic... Well I figured out why it sounds like I'm punching myself in the ear. You know, I recorded mono instead of stereo. Now I realize mono sounds more close, and stereo sounds more like all over the place which is good. It gives more room. Yes I do have a soundcard, a very good one. But I think maybe I don't really know how close I can be to the mic and the settings on the mixer label can be wrong. I'm trying
Hey! This is a very good cover. I have the same mic as you and I'm wondering which settings you have on it when you recorded this? Like flat or curve, 0 or -10 db and stuff. And what recording programme do you use? How do you get your vocals loud but still far away? When I record and then listen to it, it sounds like I'm punching myself in the ear with my voice. I do have compression on the recording and reverb and stuff, still doesn't work. Would be glad for an answer :)

@HannahJamiie Thanks. I don't use any padding on the mic ( don't set it to -10; keep it at 0). I keep the mic on Cardioid pattern. I use ableton as my recording software and yes I do use compression. I have to if I want the vocal to get that volume. It's weird that your feels like your punching yourself in the ear. Haha. Do you use any audio interface or sound card?

"Heads on a science apart," not "silence". Hence the Scientist.
