Bruce is a huge Elvis fan.
I remember when Elvis passed away Bruce was quoted as saying "I didn't think it was possible for someone like him to die."
A great cover and considering it was 1978, a great tribute.
And a smokin' piano!
Thanks for posting.

Elvis has influenced rock music all over the world - and still does! And this is an amazing Springsteen's performance..

For the first 18 seconds or so I thought, finally!! someone outdid Elvis, but then when you get to the second verse you start to miss Elvis' 1968 version. Then, when Bruce pulls out all the stakes (check how he handles "although it';s always crowded"., but only to lower down the register when you thought he was going all the way, that's when you REALLY want to hear the master's voice, the one who could go high, then low WITHOUT noticing the octaves being chewed. Fantastic try, though.

HE Does a great version but he do not do Elvis better than Elvis no way Only Elvis can do Elvis better than Elvis

The best cover of this very hard to cover song available on the internet. Hands down Bruce knew how to take his major inflences..Elvis, Dylan, Garage Rock, Soul, Blues and create something entirely his own.

OMG He does Elvis better than Elvis!

ELVIS IS THE KING. BUT BRUCE DOES ONE THING THE KING NEVER COULD DO!! BRUCE CAN WAIL HIS "AXE"!!! BRUCE HAS THEM ALL BEAT. NONE OF THE GREAT SINGER/ SONG WRITERS CAN BURN ON THE GUITAR. NONE OF THE GREAT GUITAR PLAYERS ARE GREAT SINGER/ SONG WRITERS. BRUCE DOES IT ALL. BRUCE IS THE ROCKER ALL OF US DREAMT WHEN WE WERE KIDS WE WOULD GROW UP TO BE.

He jumped the wall to Graceland in 1976. As he was about to knock, Security interceded. He recalls asking, Is Elvis home?. Answer: No, Elvis isnt home, hes in Lake Tahoe. (It was true.) Then was politely escorted to the street.
