From some long lost episode of CSI New York.

Shooting a 41 Millimeter Armor Piercing Jacketed Bullet out of a 7.62 Caliber Pistol would be like shoving a baseball through a soda straw.

So much for learning anything about Forensics and Ballistics from any of the Crime Scene Investigation TV Shows.

They probably saw 7.62x41mm somewhere on the internet and figured the 41mm was the bullet diameter, it's not. The 41mm in the 7.62x41mm cartridge means the case is 41mm long.

  • the orginal AK used a 7.62x41mm cartridge

    pre ak47

  • But the 41mm refers to the case length, not the bullet diameter as implied in the video.

  • Ahhh, fail. I just looked it up. It is a 7.62x41mm round. Do you know how hard it is to admit your wrong and CSI is right?

  • Wow, what an outstanding group of idiotic writers...

  • Yeah, looks like that guy bought his degree of the internet lol.

  • slip 1: they didnt say 7.62x41mm SP-4, they ommited the important bit

slip 2:Its the only round that can be used in the PSS pistol, no others fit.

  • 7.62x41 is used by russians in the PSS noiseless pistol, not a common round at all... uses a piston in the case and a round nosed steel bullet...

  • cool video. i subed

  • Never mind, I just looked it up. It does exist in a pistol form, as stated below.

Still not a 41mm projectile though lol.

  • 7.62mm x 41mm? That is a very rare Russian experimental cartridge.

The common NATO cartridge is 7.62mm x 51mm.

Maybe they got that wrong too.

  • Cant agree more

  • Actually you are quite an expert to even know this gun.

Anyway, the CSI made two mistakes:

    1. they called the bullet 41 mm (its actually 7,62mm)

    2. this bullets are not really armor piercing because their muzzle velocity is sub-sonic
