  • I am so blessed!! My mother used to play this song in the mornings. She still has the album, but I only get to hear it when I go home to visit because she still has a record player. I still sing this song all the time around my house! Now I can hear it here! Thank you so much for putting this up! It truly is a blessing!

  • We the Savannah Community Choir sung this with Rev, D along with Mother Mary Lou Boyd

  • This song brings back so many memories when I was the musician for the Gospel Choir at Hahn Air Force Base, Germany...Sing Jhonnie Keyes.

  • Thanks so much...I loved this song....does anyone know where I can get the video of them singing this on Bobby Jones

  • I would like to hear the song of him sing "It Pays to Server Jesus"

  • Oh my Lord! I have not heard this song in years!! I always loved this song. I was young in the faith then, but it really touched my heart and made me want more of God and to do more for him.

  • @San47di1 I went to school with Dewitt who was the founder of the Johnson Ensemblle and one of the founders of the BCM Mass Choir. Our church bust took the BCM mass choir to there first performance. and he is the orignal writer. we were in the same senior class and I now 64 as well as he would be approximately the same age if were in your early teens that would make him early 20's, Dewitt had a great writing ablitly even in HS, could play a piano that you make you hair standup. just saying

  • @shadhom I don't think the James Dewitt Johnson you're refering to is the same person who wrote this song because he's too young to have done so. I remember the rendition of this song from my early teens & I'm now 57 years old. Maybe his father wrote it, or another relative because the writer should be in his 70's or 80's by now.

  • Being from Philly and having grown up listening to Rev Williams back in the day on 'DAS, I can identify this song with her also. I still listen to her on WURD via the internet, since I moved over 1000 miles away from Philly. Still love to listen to the lady. God bless her and you. I read where Rev. Douglas on this song passed away in 1988

  • I read recently that he passed away back in 1988
