Ending the mystery of when I'll get my first greenish-blue egg (typical of Easter Egger chickens), Sparrow shows me what she's got.

  • I have changed the video name to be "EasterEgger" hen. When I got this hen as a day-old chick in 2008, she was sold to me by the feed store as an "Ameraucana". I had my doubts when I posted this video whether she was a pure Ameraucana and this was evident in my original entry when I wrote "Ameraucana/Easter Egger" in the description. There was nothing intentional about my mislabeling, merely a brand new and first time chicken-owner trying to post a funny video. Everyone be nice, please.

  • i have the exact type of araucana. how old is yours and wen did it started laying the eggs. any advice. plz respond

  • My Ameraucana turned a year old in March. She began laying at approx 19 weeks old.

  • Hey uhmm I had a question. We have two barred rock, one rhode island red and an easter egger. But our easter egger lays blue eggs. Why does yours lay red? Just wonndering, I was just curious about it.

  • Aww! Look at how happy she got! So adorable!

  • how sweet, what a great mother! Good job sweet heart, I am sorry you have to go through this every day.

  • @critterfarmgirl isnt an easter-egger also known as an araucana?

  • aww she like my chicken but with a black head!

  • I'm so excited to start researching chickens. Thanks so much for the video. Indeed it is confusing when hatcheries mislabel the birds...us newbies don't know the difference! Anyhow, what a splendid looking hen you have!

  • How old is she? I have 2 EE'S just like her and I'm wondering when I can expect to see green eggs in the nesting box next to the usual Golden Comet's brown ones

  • I have an EE hen that looks just like yours and just made a video of her with a big worm we found. Ameraucana chicken breeders are really critical of EE chickens. I found that out as well. I have four EE hens that lay mint green, sky blue and olive green eggs. I love them. They lay way better than my "Purebred" Ameraucanas do. lol So much for the snobs. Thanks for sharing.

  • hi my hen has laid egg and i removed it out ,she lays egg every alternit days this is my first time plz help wht should i do

  • She is really beautiful.
