In June of last year I took my favorite working trio of Matt Ray on piano and Danton Boller on bass, into the Common Ground Coffee House in Hastings New York. It happened that my old Brooklyn boyhood neighbor, Simon Feldman, was there with a rather high tech video setup, and he wound up documenting what turned into a pretty soulful set. Matt Ray does some typically beautiful things and there's more great Danton and Matt in other items I'll post. And for a guy that couldn't even walk the morning of the gig (don't ask), I acquit myself quite nicely on the old guit-box.
The studio version of this song, featuring a great full band, will be on a CD of Willard Robison's music that I've been working on for 8 years, and which will finally be available fall 2010.
Much thanks to Carter Smith and the crew at Common Ground, and Simon of HVMC.TV for their great work.
Truly some fine playing, and great listening!

Matt Munisteri is a great archivist of classic and neglected music. Plus, a whale of a guitar player. Also a good guy.
