thanks mate, i should get a decent sturdy tripod that has many angles and independant legs!

thanks for the advice! may have to invest in the 10-20mm !

@SlowDawnPhotography hi, thanks for the reply.i use a manfrotto tripod. not the best in the world but its ok for me. i keep it low down and have changed the feet to spikes. only thing i can think is my cokin filters are catching the strong winds.
cheers

@coooooolio666 i like to do sea scape mate. and i found that sometimes cokin is not a good choice. costal areas usualy have more wind and that square bit of plastic on your lense can cause camera shake on long exposures. but cokin is a cheaper option. i suggest if using cokin. have tripod lower to ground
hi mate. nice photos. please tell me how you combat camera shake in stormy weather. cheers

@markash1971 Hi, I use a sturdy tripod and dig the legs into the wet sand. Seems to handle all movement problems.

@coooooolio666 Hitech I've found are better than cokin filters, as they don't leave a colour cast. For these shots I simply used a kit lens 18-105mm that came with the D90. For your setup I would recommend the sigma 10-20mm or Tokina 11-16mm
