Police Notify Tent City Residents Of Vacate Date

Tent City, a longstanding homeless encampment in Nashville, has been the subject of controversy after a population increase and subsequent increases in police, ems and fire calls to the area. While initial attempts at keeping the camp open were successful, a stabbing that occurred over Labor Day Weekend has resulted in Metro PD's decision to permanently close the camp. Metro PD Lt Swisher will address the homelessness commisssion meeting scheduled for tomorrow (9-5-08)on the particulars of the closing. We will be making an effort at this meeting to stop the closing but it will be an uphill battle, to say the least.

When the Republicans ( hopefully not, steal the elections in 2012), you'll see homelessness expand by at minimal 1/3 of the US population after the repubs do away with HUD, and all the other services that help needy , disabled and elderly. ( Don't believe this isn't the Republican agenda ) Just watch CSPAN, They are doing it now!!!

I know what it feels like to be homeless its not alot of fun. I bet most if not all these people voted conservative never vote for people who dont give a damn about you this should be a lesson for them i hope.
