The Al Franken campaign today produced ballots challenged by the Norm Coleman for Senate and pointed out an interesting pattern. As you can see in the video there is a clear vote for Al Franken, but it the Coleman campaign appears to contend the vote should have been for Norm Coleman because the voter also voted John McCain for President.

There are also two challenged ballots that have votes for John McCain and no vote for US Senate. The Coleman campaign challenged those for "voter intent" as well, indicating they think the vote should have counted for Norm Coleman.

All of these challenged ballots came from Fillmore County.

  • It boggles my mind how anyone could vote for Franken and an idiot like McCain.

  • also if im not mistaken minnesota was in the top 5 for "split ticket" votes

meaning people would vote mccain but vote franken, and obama/norm

will this god awful process ever end?

  • Political Science 101... There is a place on the ballot to vote for each INDIVIDUAL not just the strait ticket... DUH!!!

    Send Coleman back to school!!!

    No wonder he lost!!!

  • If this video is factual -- if Norm is challenging these ballots for the reasons listed -- he should be jailed for wasting people's time and for contempt of court.

Quit this crappy misuse of Court time.

Did Franken challenge any like this? If so, throw both men out.

  • Hey, idiot, quit calling that idiot an idiot, you idiot.

  • I can hardly belive that the Coleman campaign would try to challenge a ballot that is clearly marked for Franken, just because they also voted for McCain. People often divide their votes between parties when voting for president and congress/ Senate. There is no law that says people have to vote for both candidates of the same party. Coleman must really be desperate and think the judges are stupid!

  • Believe me, your mind has been boggled since birth.

  • *You're

  • haha seriously! and this whole recount is out of hand no doubt too. it'll drag on to the new year. how ridiculous is this?
