All this is true. Oil reserves buy us some time to develop renewable solar and wind power sources. How are we going to explain to the next generation what we did with this irreplacable resource?
@gozala00 Unfortunately, Bartlett is the only guy in Congress willing to talk about peak oil. It's a political non-starter - not many people get elected by saying we're doomed. The irony is that Bartlett is deeply conservative. He must be in an area where that factor outweighs anything he might say about peak oil. He's not charismatic or a great speaker. But at least there's someone willing to talk about it. Sadly, this is almost certainly to be more of a historical record than a call to action.
The solution to Peak Oil is simple, "Drill, drill, drill, the more you drill, the more oil you get, the faster you can deplete what is left and the better off you will be." Isn't that the modern policy of the USA?
@Standuble no, It's making rubbing and rattling sounds because the baby-boomers are a bunch of passive aggressive TERDS. They gave him a screwy mic and podium to passively undermine his speech/presentation. What a classy country American is... NOT!!!
I like how he points at the Shell CEO quotation with his middle finger.

"Undesirable national security risk" qualifies as the understatement of the year.

use a parametric EQ and set lower frequencies down at least -6db and the rub should go away.
