It's called a thruster, and they can be mounted in any direction one wants. Hell, the space shuttle has foreward facing thrusters in its nose. How else would it slow down in space, an airbrake? Without any air?

I am looking forward to exsploring the beautiful sectors they have created. All good things come to those who wait and if it's just Freelancer with a face lift I would still be over the moon and buy it. All you haters that are giving negative comments need to Fuckoff.

holy crap....can't wait to dogfight inside that space station or w/e the superstructure they were flying inside of was
also hoping for some asteroid fields, mine fields, nebulae, asteroid/mine fields inside a nebula...yeah.... :)

If you like PVP then ignore this game, it has gone sooo carebear it's not even funny! (No Cargo Loss on Death)
If you want to own your own station and obtain exclusive group rights also ignore!
(Stations can be accessed by anyone in same faction)
Like Capital Ships/Industrial/Support Ships, um...yeah ignore it too!
If you've been folowing this game since it started and you were 12 your now 16
You'll probably be 18 before you well ever get to play this game.
