try being an unsuspecting person gay/straight, male/female in the back corners of Botswana with a partner who doesn't know they have HIV or refuses to get tested or thinks they are immune.

so I know this is old and blah blah, but somehow this rubbed me the wrong way...
My family's been doing HIV/AIDS research for over 15 years, and listening to you say that you knowingly had unprotected sex and you're worried about HIV AFTER the fact is infuriating. You're clearly intelligent, and living in the United States you have NO excuse, whatsoever. Yes, it sucks that our bodies have turned against us, but knowing that they have, we should be prepared.

and you stood up a booty call... you went all the way there and then made up your mind??

KUDOS for getting tested but for christ's sake, what a superficial drama queen.

I am a certified emt out of the us army ft bragg and future filmmaker and what you said was 100% true. If people only new about the miseducation that has been put out about this virus and if they only knew that the amounts of money the bigwigs are making off of this miseducation and the so call drug therapy. People definitely would be shock.

I used to meet guys the smae way. I didn't really want to meet all the time, so I just jacked off & said at least it was safe. then I did meet a couople of guys & didn't do the right thing. hoping thet felt the same way I did & come to find out thet just wanted one thing. I think that's how I became (+). now if I'm going to d it, I tell tem stright up & let them make their decision.
I honestly would date someone who had HIV, if they told me before we had sexual intercourse. I'm always safe when I have sex but being honest about their status would definitely seal the deal with me if initially I was feeling that person. I would have to be feeling them on a major level though. I feel that an individual was given that status, they didn't create it themselves. Stigma stings, and I think that everyone deserves a wonderful quality of life this includes being loved by another.

flu shots and the flu itself will cause one to have a false positive on the hiv test according to a 2006 New England Journal of Medicine report. the hiv test only identifies the presence of 2 proteins and many conditions will cause the body to produce those 2 proteins including recreational drug use, pregnancy and tuberculosis among others. please pray for all those who have been misdiagnosed with hiv and the AIDS Syndrome.
