Commodore 64 music - Thrust

The title music from the C64 game Thrust published by Firebird. The music itself was composed by the legendary Rob Hubbard.

This was actually the first C64 tune I ever heard way back when. I make no exaggeration when I say that it blew me away and changed my life. This tune, and indeed the C64 with its wonderful SID chip are the reasons why I make music today.

i used to buy games if they had a rob hubbard soundtrack..just to hear his music..even if the game was shit...

It was a sleepy Saturday afternoon and the smell of someone mowing the lawn was in the air. I had gotten a disc from a friend at school and this game was on it. The weather was about to turn into a thunderstorm. I had my Action Replay MK IV and seeked through the .PRG, wondering why it wouldnt start. And all of a sudden. I got the right jump-in, and the song played and the game showed up. I sat astonished, watching, listening.

Famously, Thrust's music was given a low rating by Zzap! 64, but this was because (it was discovered later) there was a bug either in their review copy or the SID chip of the review machine. Zzap clarified the error subsequently.
