True Blood is an American television drama series created by Alan Ball and based on the The Southern Vampire Mysteries (also known as The Sookie Stackhouse novels) by Charlaine Harris.

In This clip, Godric -a 2,000 year old vampire- feels like their existence is insanity. He feels like he should make amends for all of the bad he has done in his lifetime. Eric Northman is his "ward"(he created him).

This was one of the most saddest parts in the whole second season. No True Blood audience member has a dry eye in my opinion.

You will be missed Godric.

@nknoval In 30 Days of night the Vampires looked like Sharks. Those Vamps make these guys look gay as all heck. Yes Twilight is tacky, but it's one take in like, a thousand on what Vampire lore is. I enjoy all styles of Vampire, because it's myth. Variety is the spice of life, or undeath as it were. :)

without a doubt one of the best scenes of True Blood - it pitches the emotion just right and the acting from all three is perfect - it's so moving without being over the top - i cried like a baby the first time i watched it! i also think there's something strangely beautiful about the blood tears that True Blood vamps shed - it just seems to make it even MORE sad when they cry!

EVERYTHING about this scene is beautiful; beautiful scripting, words, acting, music. It all works together to evoke such emotion from within. Lovely, but bitter sweet.... I love how the connection, devotion and affection between Eric and his maker is shown,... it adds such depth to the story and to Eric's character... this is the good which Sookie sees in Eric. She has seen the side which so rarely is seen as Eric must constantly conceal any perceived weakness... <3 Eric ..
