"mainly because of low taxes and low retirement age"

Add rampant tax evasion to the list.

hey will you argue with me? i strongly disagree with all of your previously stated opinions, and the fact that you would begin a paragraph with "Shut up" and then end it with "Peace bro".

The conservative Greek government lied about their debt liability.

Simply because the government purchases from the private sector and you even see it when you go to the dentist, the doctor and the hospital when you just pay a small fee because they're able to pay for your treatment. You can't do that if they use the credit card like Greece. And by extending the retirement age from 58-63/65, they will also gain more and being able to provide better services for the citizens.

Greece lived beyond their means, mainly because of low taxes and low retirement age.

I deleted it because I thought I misunderstood you.

But I can give you my arguments:

No, I'm currently a psychology student, nor do I want to work in a government position. But the life expectancy in countries with socialism is 77-85yrs, and the normal retirement age for a healthy person in Europe is 65yrs unless you have a nice deal in the private sector.

Government revenue is important to actually run a social democracy and gain economic growth in the private sector.

"Retire people at the age of 58yr is just pathetic and a country looses tons of revenue by doing so" that's what you wrote "magr187" you must be working for the government ...what is pathetic( besides your comment) is when a country retires there citizen at the close age of death! and what do you care how much the government revenue brings in.anyway! your not going to see it! The politicians retirement package is pretty sweet..Not like the citizens they represent.
