Yeah, they got it totally wrong. It's Saint Peters Basilica and Square and not the Apostolic Palace.

When the Ottomans in my game built this, I just had to capture it from them and convert them to Christianity.

Actually it's because the civilization that builds it in the game could follow any religion and not just Christianity. That's why they don't use a name that refers to a specific religious figure. It's the same reason why they renamed St. Basil's Cathedral to the Kremlin.
