Push-Off Conspiracy Theory

I have uploaded 2 versions of this play on youtube. There is no arm extension by Pearson to justify an alleged push-off.
Use the replay feature to and review the play frame by frame. At 0:19 seconds #43 takes his eyes off the ball and looks toward the end zone. Ther is obvious incidental contact between them (0:20 seconds) as Pearson moves inside to make the catch. #43 got off balance trying to turn back around and make a play on the ball..... his brief head turn led to the incidental contact between them between the 9Yd and 6Yd line. At the 6Yd line, Pearson plants both feet to make the catch. Still off balance, the defender's momentum from the contact carries him across Pearson's right leg/foot and causes him to fall sharply to the right.... as Pearson backs straight into the end zone. In my other posted youtube clip of this play, the defender doesn't even get up to argue that he was interfered with---because he knew he was beaten on the play.

Per my other youtube clip, you will see that Pearson is the only receiver down field. Why is #22 (free safety) not assisting in coverage? WTF is he doing? -- covering the referree??? or just "watching" the game ???

After the play, the defender just walks off and doesn't go and pleading his case to the referee that he was interfered. .

  • This little piggy (#88) caught a touchdown. This little piggy (#22) stayed home and didn't even help cover the only receiver down field. And this little piggy (#43) just quietly got up and walked away because he knew he got beat. Then he cried wee wee wee all the way home.

  • HEY!! Not ALL Vikings fans think it was interference. OK... maybe 99.99% But I think Nate Wright fell down after he tripped over his own feet like the clutz that he was.

  • That wasn't a flag, but rather something from the stands. However, you are right about Pearson pushing off. It's pretty clear that Nate Wright heading down and Pearson's arm is going in the same direction, a clear indication he pushed off.

  • That wouldn't even be PI in today's game. And the ref that "missed" the call got hit in the head with a tequila bottle and was KOed right after that play

  • That season Cowboys won the Superbowl, everything that happen in this game was meant to be...destiny.

  • Clearly it was Nate Wright that initiated contact. He put his body into Drew without even reaching for the ball. And no Drew never admitted he pushed off and then changed his story.

  • did you record this with your microwave ?

  • 0:31 YouTube video: the "Hail Mary Pass" in the 1975 playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings. With seconds on the clock and the Cowboys trailing 14–10, Staubach launched a 50-yard bomb to wide receiver Drew Pearson, who caught the pass and strode into the end zone for a 17–14 victory.

  • Over the years Pearson has changed his story about this play . Numerous times he admitted he pushed Nate Wright down and it should have been a penalty. For some reason when the teams played this season he is back to saying he didn't. I have seen this play dozens and dozens of times and only a blind person couldn't see he cheated. Back in those days ,Dallas was the biggest drawing team and the NFL wanted 'Mr All america' Roger Staubach to be in the SB every year just as they want Brady to now
