Do you know what's weird? Your character goes on a quest to save his mother, and his kids join in to rescue their mother. That means the are going to save both their mother and grandmother. Strange, ain't it?

Yep, usually the son surpasses the father. Just like the main character has surpassed Papas. I like how they did not make you the legendary hero in this game. It was a nice change.

Just like how Gohan ended up being the one to defeat Cell and Goku not being the chosen one for that battle, the hero's son becomes the chosen one after a long gameplay and not the hero.

@Kenshin1913 Well I named the heros's son after the child's grandfather. Same as the hero's daughter after her grandmother.

Sancho as a servant, must be like Don Quixote. I think Suikoden 1 had a Sancho and Max (Don Quixote) too.
