R53 MINI COOPER S

R53 MCS with Alta CAI, Milltek sports manifold/cat and Milltek sports exhaust. Quick and dirty to show peeps who might want this or similar set-up what you can expect inside the car in terms of noise. Does not do it justice but its the best I could manage for now.

oh man I am loving that noise Crofts. I am waiting for my Milltek cat back Hope it sounds similar - Robboc

As you can here most of the noise inside is charger whine caused by the Alta. The manifold makes a huge difference to the noise of the Milltek exhaust ... But the Milly cat back is very good on its own, does not drone at motorway and cruising speeds and is really nice above 3k RPM.

@R53MCS I know this was a while ago, but you're confusing frequency with volume. A smaller pulley will increase the pitch of the blower since it now spins faster, but the Alta CAI will make the sound of the blower louder due to its design.

is it the 2.0 Alta cai?I cant deside whether to get that or the Madness cai with the cowl mod....does the 2.0 have the same cowl mod?

im guesing the intake goes straight into the SC manifold....in that case the aftermarket filter isnt boxed up like the stock one....making the SC louder?Thats my theory

Yeah ... weirdly I found that the charger seemed to whine louder (can't explain it mechanically, as in theory the charger only increase in whine if you fit a reduced pulley) but thats what happened on mine. Got even louder again when the pulley went on. The twitter and suck of the alta makes a fair bit of noise too
