On the second day of the Around Ireland Rally 2008 we paid a visit to Mizen Head, the most southwesterly point of Ireland, where we found this bridge amidst gorgeous scenery. A bit later on we saw a seal swimming in the sea under the bridge.

  • Alex,

I went there about ten years ago with my wife and mum and dad, the lady in the hut where you pay asked my mum and dad whether they where seniors, they thought she said singers and my dad said "no but we hum a bit"

A great part of island, I still remember the hangovers!

    Steve

  • We got talking to one of the guides there, and at one point she said what *sounded* just like, "we've got a nudist play over there." It took me a couple of seconds to realise she meant "new display." :D

  • I think it was there that my mum stood patiently waiting for a man to come down a ladder so she could have a look in the lighthouse, she gave up in the end, we had to tell her later it was a wax model standing on the ladder!

Apologies for saying "island" not Ireland in my last comment!

    Alex, did you visit Leenane?
