Al Valdez-Professor University of California at Irvine - Speaker at 2008 http://nygia.org conference in Rochester New York on topic of West Coast Hispanic Gangs.
http://safestreet.org is a website that Mr. Valdez recommends to grassroots efforts at gang prevention and intervention in the Spanish Community.
One such organization spoken about in this video in Toronto, ON Canada is the Spanish Speaking Education Network http://ssencanada.org .
The New York Gang Investigators Association was established in 2006 by criminal justice professionals who recognized the importance of sharing information and working with social service agencies, community-based organizations and the education system to impact the spread of gangs.
By bringing together those that are actively involved in the investigation, prosecution, suppression, intervention and prevention of criminal street gangs, prison gangs and extremist groups and their affiliations, the Association will provide a venue for collaboration and communication across disciplines.
The Association works in partnership with fellow gang investigators and law enforcement associations throughout the world to develop anti-gang strategies in the areas of gang prevention, gang intervention, gang enforcement, gang suppression, gang member rehabilitation and gang member re-entry into mainstream society.
Video by Director of http://NoToGangs.org to inspire to good people at SSEN and http://ongia.org as well as http://nagia.org to keep doing what you do. Together we will make a positive impact in the future of our kids and our communities.
