Secrets of Body Language

Body language is a form of non-verbal communication, which consists of body posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye movements. Humans send and interpret such signals almost entirely subconsciously.

John Borg attests that human communication consists of 93 percent body language and paralinguistic cues, while only 7% of communication consists of words themselves;[1] however, Albert Mehrabian, the researcher whose 1960s work is the source of these statistics, has stated that this is a misunderstanding of the findings[2] (see Misinterpretation of Mehrabian's rule). Others assert that "Research has suggested that between 60 and 70 percent of all meaning is derived from nonverbal behavior."[3]

Body language may provide clues as to the attitude or state of mind of a person. For example, it may indicate aggression, attentiveness, boredom, relaxed state, pleasure, amusement, and intoxication, among many other cues.

Who the hell will buy a product based on how thy feel about thesalesman? When someone's doing that, its called impulsive buying. Noone is buying base on how they approach u(unless u are silly). When u are buying somthing, ur focus is about the appearance&checking if ur car is made in china. Whn you're buying somthing. U r 2 search the specification yourself w/o relying to the one selling.

Don't interpret what happened in the 5th minute as "almost a physical fight"!! Body language needs to be interpreted within the cultural context. In the middle east, it is a sign of respect to let another person go into the door first and often people insist on letting others go in first. What you saw there was nothing more than these two leaders trying to be respectful to each other. And the end-result (Arafat going first) is predictable, because he is the older one and shall go first.
