@MyLifeAsAlex I'm 16 now, and I've been on birth control since I was... maybe 12 or 13? But, the thing is about my acne, is that it's not really hormonal, it is a little, but it's mostly genetics, and I just need something that will make my acne, be flat and/or clear, nothing has been working for me.

btw YOUR SKIN LOOKS AMAZING WITHOUT MAKEUP i definitely want to either try birth control or accutane but i'm scared of the side effects both of those have and i really don't know what to do and i need help :(

@ilovejasonmann I WANT TO TRY IT SO BADLY TOO. but just like you, i am terrified of the side effects and i kind of want to go on birth control too, but i'm 16 and i don't know. Birth control seems a little iffy too, because it also has pretty bad side effects.

hello, i be on roaccutane for 5 months and seem like it working but the dry lips(look out)

ive had acne since i was 12 and in september (at age16) i finally started taking roaccutane, after everything else failed. it has been 4 months now, so i have 2 months left, but i have seen absolutely no improvement. is this the kind of experience you had? im getting worried that it isnt working and there isnt anything else i can try because roaccutane is the last resort for pretty much every acne sufferer.

I have pretty bad acne, I've had bad acne since I was 11, I'm turning 16 in about a week and I've been watching YouTube videos of people that have been on accutane, and I've been researching it. I want to do it but I am terrified of the side effects, also, I went to my doctor about 2 months ago to see what she had to say, and my mom said no accutane. But, I kind of want to try it maybe..

That was exactly the opposite of how my dermatologist did it. I don't remember the exact dosages anymore (I finished about 7 months ago), but she started me on a relatively low dose, then kept increasing it because my skin wasn't fully clearing up. It's actually still not fully cleared up, but it was too expensive for me to do another round with no real guarantee that it would help anything. But anyway, I'm really glad you had such awesome results! You look absolutely stunning :)
