@japhyryder66 Damien is performing a David's song and so he has to follow him. As to who is the "the master", well that depends on each person's taste. I like David Gray, but I absolutely love Damien's work. I listened to David's work a few times and that's it, while I keep listening to Damien's work and felling stunned about it and about his deeply felt live performances. So, to me... Damien Rice is "The Master."

David Gray is one of the best singer/songwriters out there. His album White Ladder is one of the best albums ever made and should be in everybody's album collection. Believe me when i say you can buy this album with your eyes closed.......

i think that may be due to the fact Damien is playing a Gray song, and he is following the singer and songwriter of the song. Much as i love David Gray, i still think they shouldv'e done a Damien Rice song as well - as i thought they did. When i am playing with another muscian there are times where the "leader" (David in this case) will go off on a tangent, so the other (Damien) has to follow and be ready for any changes...

Seems to me Damien Rice is humbled to be in the presence of the master...David Gray. He seems very unsure of himself and keeps looking over at David for reassurance. Not that I don't like Damien. I do. But, well, David Gray is a genius and will eventually be recognized as an equal of John Lennon's.
