  • Thanks nannadiva!

According to Clive Robertson's Wikipedia page, he hosted a show called "Robbo's World Tonight" on Channel 9 around that time.

  • awesome footage ! the railway is only 15min from my front door its one of my favourite places!

  • I have two video tapes of docos made by NBN3 Newcastle about this railway and I know for sure one is called "Hearts of Fire" - I will upload them both one day soon... they are great. pieces of history....

  • This vid is filmed with Clive Robertson on the RVR between Hexham and Stockrington. Robbo used to work for the ABC but could quite possibly have done this for NBN who was responsible for Hearts of Fire, and a few others which I have on tape somewhere.

  • @WSDuplex I think there is a mixup as to where this video if from. It's certainly not from the doco you mentioned (I have a copy of that too) but this clip may still have been made by NBN for one of Clives shows. The person that taped this has a faint memory of the clip being linked to Newcastle TV.

  • @oldtapecaptures Clive cane to us twice, so this is part two. Notice some clips are in rain, and others in sunshine. His first clip included No 27 shunting. Nice to see that again....

  • When I was a kid in the 90's I used to have an old Beta Video of a taped program called "Rekindled hearts of fire" Speaking bout the old SMR Locos on the richmond vale. This scene looks very similar to that.

  • @nannadiva This is not the program made by NBN Television. NBN's documentary was titled 'The Richmond Vale Railway' and filmed in late 1987. It was a one-hour special that looked at the RVR line and closure, including the brave stand made by rail employees to try and save steam, including a long sit-in protest with hijacked SMR No.25, the green engine featured in this short film.

  • Going off the date the film would have be shot between Hexham and Stockrington on Richmond Vale Railway.

  • This is a short part of a program made by NBN 3 in Newcastle. My grandfather and uncle were both engine drivers for South Maitland Railways and this is part of their line - possibly near Neath in the Hunter Valley. Channel 3 could prob help you further. I did have the full recording, maybe I still do - would have to check. If I dont I am sure my 89 year old aunt would.
