Obviously you don't know what it's like to take a strike that strong. It was the initial run and it was all in favor of the fish. For safety reasons we will tire the fish first until it gives in. My son could have been easily get pulled into the ocean or fell on the rocks below. This is a remote spot and EMS is at least an hour away.
Safety First.

true... most people kayak the bait out, but it would he hard from that spot especial with the cliff. do you know what type of fish it is?

I figured a good way to catch a fish in this situation....all you have to do is when you first spool your reel with the line tie a uni knot 20 ft or so from the end then spool then tie the line to the reel like you normally would so if you think your going to get spooled you can add another uni knot in front of the first uni knot so at the end of the spool you can cut your line and continue to fight the fish with another rod. I hope that makes sense. good luck on your island. Tight lines.

@nats6498 Nah, it was Sonny Boy Gomes on his longboard pretending he was a big fish for these wankers who can't catch the real thing because they talk too much.

@justpapersman you idoit the hook will dissolve now and do you know they have boidegradeable line out now and when i say the hook will dissolve it either going to dissolve becuase the fish natural acids or the water will dissolve so get our facts right

@daniel123s1ckstuffz
Thanks, but daniel, can you cast out bait with a 12/0 reel from shore?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Well done for leaving 300 metres of line in the sea attached to a fish - that's bad news for the environment and that fish is probably dead now. What a shame

@justpapersman Your comment on the "Big Strike", You idiot, just because the line cut you assume that all line was lost?
The line cut at the leader swivel so all of the main line was reeled back in. What a shame that people like you are just fuclking idiots....
What's good for the enviroment is that you keep your head up your ass because all the shit talking you do..
