McConnell "Blames Canada" In Slam Of Government-Run Healthcare

On "Meet the Press," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell disagrees with Sen. Ted Kennedy on his wish that "every American will have decent, quality health care."

"His particular prescription is not going to bring about quality health care," McConnell says, referring to the government-run healthcare public option plan, which he compares to the government's takeover of automobile companies and eliminating competition. "Sound familiar?"

He then tells of "a friend in Canada" who was denied a medical procedure and died as a result. "I don't think that's the direction the American people want us to go, David."
