Gran Turismo 4: Mission 12 (4'07.738)

Gran Turismo 4 (USA), PlayStation2, DualShock2, Manual...

Here's my run for Mission 12: 3 Lap Battle @ Laguna Seca. It's a pretty clean lap (penalty free, with no major offs), although contact while passing is not something I'm afraid of.

I pass the first Viper coming out of the Corkscrew on Lap 1. I'm into the Saleen's draft by the end of Lap 1, and pass on entry into the Hairpin. The Camaro gets passed into the Corkscrew on Lap 2, and I'm into the draft of the Corvette by the end of Lap 2. I pass him going into the Hairpin, and the 1st place Viper is now in sight. I catch his windbreak coming up the hill into the Corkscrew, and pass him going into the following left bender. Final MOV is 2.852".

There are plenty of places where I can improve, most notably the right hander after the Hairpin. I still haven't found the right braking point for this car, as it loses a lot of rear-end grip when slowing down. In any case...

Why don't you use automatic transmission? I actually drive a manual in real life, but without a clutch, I can't see the point on a racing game...
