  • Hello Zak. I browsed the JVC web page but nothing about how to load new maps to the device. They use Street Director but this soft doesn't allow loading new maps, just POI. Do you know what is the map's and cartography provider? what kind of maps are compatible for this device model? Thank in advance!

  • @MarianoHLX

Have you tried calling JVC? I have their number here for you if you'd like to try. The number is 800-252-5722.

You can also call our tech department if you bought your KW-NT1 from Crutchfield, our tech number is on the invoice you received with your order.

    Good luck:

  • Hello Zak, nobody knows how to update the maps in the flash memory. Do you know how?

  • @MarianoHLX

You can find the updates on JVC's website. Do a search for "JVC KW-NT1 Map Update" and you'll find the answer.

    Good luck,

  • I am thinking about purchasing this unit for my 2008 pontiac solstice. What wire harness would I need to get? Do I need the on-star compatible even if I never use on-star and do not have a subscription?

  • @nonpoint22

The KWNT1 is not a product we carry any longer. We still have some of the next model up from JVC, called the KWNT7000BT, which you can find at Crutchield with $200 off until we run out of this model as well.

As for your car, yes you need the OnStar adapter weather you plan to continue using it or not. We've got everything you need. You may want to call us, or place your order at Crutchfield.

    Thanks,

    Crutchfield

  • i bought this a few days ago definitely worth the money navigation is a great thing

  • I love my new purchase. As far as voice recognition, the main numbers I call are on my one touch speed dial... 9 slots all filled. Thanks

  • I own this unit myself I really like it my only beef with the unit the the bluetooth function I don't like it when someone calls you just shows the number and not the name even that person is on your phonebook makes no sense at all. Also i don't like how you can't use the voice recognition to make calls rather then scrolling through your phone book. Very user friendly so easy to use that i don't even bother with the manuals.

  • Are you saying they are only going to offer an updated map for those in the US. What about us here in Canada. Hell my map is already missing the new Golden Ears Bridge.
