  • omg my african grey does that all the time!!!!!! and chases my cats.

  • i need help...i have a grey and i want to mate him/her is theri a certain noise a male or female does that will help me tell them apart ...the bird vet wants to charge 200 bucks to do the DNA but im thinking that their a male and a female should have mating sounds. i see in this video the grey doing like a mating sound cause she loves the owner but mines bites like a dog and wont let anyone get that close to it so i want to mate him/her to handraise a baby so it can be very frindly.ty

  • Mine does that too I thought there was something wrong with him.

  • i was wondering why my african grey did this. she must love me!! lol

  • I have two african greys who both do this. Although we havent had them DNA sexed, the grey which we think is a male does this to me, and the one we think is a female does it to my husband. Its very sweet to think that they look upon us as their mates and equals to want to do this - fabulous birds, I wouldnt be without mine now.

  • Actually that is indeed a MATING dance so to speak. I breed cags and that is what both my pairs go threw days before and after. Reguritating is how the male feeds the female while she is nesting, sitting on eggs and BOTh parents feed their chicks this way. and to alwayskeepthefaith : YES at a VERY early age greys will preform this act although not sexually mature. Now, when there is no partner for them and they are the only grey around they will infact treat you as thier mate!!!

  • She's very cute. I have a 19 month old TAG who does the same thing every night before bed time. The regurgitating is a sign of her love and affection for you, and what's she's doing with her wings, we call it the "Iff's", she wants you to rub her sides under her wings...lol. At any rate it's because she loves you.

  • my parrot does that noise wn hes on my shoulder and head and nibbles my fingers which i read is a sexual response or sumfin lol

  • Cute! My parrot Tj loves to lower his wings when he flirts with me. :P

  • i don't mean to burst everyone's bubbles but i don't think it is specifically a mating dance. my grey does exactly the same thing and HE is only 4 months old.. and he has done it since he i got him at 13 weeks old. so he can't possibly being performing a mating dance he is no where near sexually mature
