  • i have a question there have been lots f dungeness crab turning up in the westport Washington area eith these same stuff on the shells and i was wondering if it is the same thing the local fishermen would also like to know if this is dangerous for people to consume if it is the same thing

  • It shows how sick and diseased our oceans are getting. Dangerous only if the seafood is not well cooked.

  • Im betting its caused by polution laden seddiment carried out the St lawrence river...bottom feders would be the first to be affected....the lobster has always grown weird claw formation happens when a claw has been injured or riped off the new one sometimes takes weird shapes, two crushers or two pinchers common too...loads of spawn by the looks ....Doing a study i guess were you, good work if you can get it lol

  • All science in Canada is directed towards getting the oil and gas to the States and no real science has been done here for decades so thats why I do the amateur science on my own. Thanks for the comment.

  • This may be a very difficult task to collect enough data to say that the crabs are sick.

There are 100's and thousands of crabs being harvested every few weeks and most do not look like that.

Besides some of the pictures shown are most likely from molting of the shells or partial molting and do not represent any sort of disease.

People need to worry about the oceans yes but most of us still have microwaves to re heat or cook. that to me is more of a concern.

  • i would like you all to know that I, Thomas Edison, like cuttlefish and believe that everyone should lighten up and listen to the arrogant worms instead of making videos about crab cancer

  • Interesting .I do amatuer science also . A suggestion on this one ..you might try photographing them in a standard format and register. That way the progress of the sickness would be more apparent.I've hear of a sickness called black shell could that be another name for this one?
