@JoeyMcPeace Completely wrong. You NEVER stay in a defensive posture. Your goal in a violent altercation is to exceed their level of aggression with your own and thereby force them into a defensive position. People do not "exhaust" is seconds in a real street fight, and most street fights last no longer than 6-10 seconds. You're looking for destruction in that amount of time, so you have to train to know how to victimize. Staying defensive is what will cost you the fight, maybe worse.

The defense to the headlock is the 3rd lesson in the Gracie Games (learned ages 4-15). If you attempt to go crazy and throw punches and kicks and it DOESN'T work, you'll be exhausted and that's the name of the game. This is how a street fight ends (if not for shananigans) - Guys go nuts, become exhausted and then can't defend anymore. This is exactly what would happen. Please, PLEASE don't do this in real life. It will cost you the fight. You have to defend the attack until THEY exhaust.

This technique works if you are bigger, stronger, faster and/or more athletic than your attacker. Otherwise? GRACIE JIU-JITSU.
