  • Great story behind this song. The writer was broke and offered it to Conway for $500. Conway loaned him the money to get him back on his feet and then recorded the song. The songwriting royalties fed the writer's family for quite some time. Not just a great singer, but a great human being also.

  • BULL SHIT CONWAY IS THE BEST

  • Wayne Kemp wrote this song and was a well established song writer by that time. i doubt this story

  • is country music now some never ending episode of "punked"?. I mean is Ashton Kutcher about to jump out and shout "you got punked, country music has sucked for 15 years but it was all just a prank!" I mean this crappy pop phase has to end some time right?

  • I dont care who wrote conways songs, him or somebody else, hes damn good,i love his singing, it takes me back to the good ole days rbncrts

  • I met Conway twitty 2 times and he was a friendly guy. thanks for the hand shake and miss you too.

  • Conway wrote 12 of his #1's including "This Far Before" Linda on my mind" Don't Take it Away" and the all time classic Hello Darlin'"

  • What I'm saying is.........I knew Harold Jenkins (AKA C. Twitty during his early country years. He was making a transition from Rock to Country, and lived and worked out of OKC.The song Image of Me, written by Wayne Kemp, was his biggest country hit at that time.Wayne was recovering from burns from a car wreck he, James Haskins, and Odie Dowdy were involved in.

As Conway became bigger and bigger in Country music, he moved to Tn. Get a life! What the hell is your problem?
