Project 'Tornado Genesis: Multiple Vortices' investigates the conditions that favor the formation of multiple vortices. I have designed and constructed a large-scale tornado machine generator for the operation of a 7.5 foot tall tornado. This machine provides all the necessary variables to conduct my experiments and its design allows for the application of an important parameter called the swirl ratio (important for determining vortex structure and ultimately observing multiple vortices upon reaching a critical value). Great demo, Kyle! I want to watch the other three parts. Also, here's a question for you: Do you feel comfortable with the genesis theory of the horizontal vortex that becomes vertically tilted? I have yet to see a horizontal rotating formation - that later becomes tilted or not. Lastly, I apologize for asking here, but could you offer an opinion on what is depicted in the YouTube clip: "Joplin Tornado 2011: The formation of the twister" ? The producing meso passed w/in a couple of miles.

NICE JOB KYLE!!!! It's Pusateri!! This is truly amazing. I thought i was a science guy, but you trump me when it comes to weather. Can't wait for the next season of Storm Chasers!

Very nice! I have built a tornado machine too.
A suggestion: You could add an audio triggered strobe light for an awesome effect!
