At Butokuden Dojo, you can also practice Jodo. This is the first Kata (Tsukizue) practice for us. As he plays Kendo, he said ' To' as Kendo-Gata, though in Jodo we should say ' Ei'. For Kendoka, it is very confusing to play Jodo. However this is good way to learn Ma.
Jōdō, meaning "the way of the jō", or jōjutsu is a Japanese martial art using short staffs called jō. The art is similar to bōjutsu, and is strongly focused upon defense against the Japanese sword. The jō is a short staff, usually about 3 to 5 feet (0.9 to 1.5 m) long. However, the art was not used, as one might expect, by travelers to ward off aggressive bandits or swordsmen. The martial art of jōdō was the province of professional warriors.

BUTOKUDEN Dojo Martial Arts Training Center is located in Irvine, California. We have classes in various Martial Arts, such as Kendo, Kyudo, Karate, Jodo, and Aikido. Please visit our web site at www.butokuden.com.
