THIS PANEL TRUCK WAS USED FOR YEARS TO TRANSPORT LIQUOR PRODUCTS FOR A TAVERN OWNER. EVENTUALLY, THE TRUCK "RETIRED" TO A FIELD WHERE IT SAT FOR YEARS BEFORE BEING PULLED OUT AND REVITALIZED. THE NEW OWNER GOT THE FLAT HEAD 230 CID ENGINE RUNNING AGAIN AND INSTALLED A NEW SET OF WHEELS AND TIRES PLUS REPLACEMENT SEATS. THE BORE AND STROKE OF THIS 6 CYLINDER ENGINE IS 3 1/4 X 4 5/8. BRAKE HORSEPOWER IS RATED AT 102 @ 3600 RPM. THE WHEEL BASE IS 119 1/2". THE COOLING SYSTEM WOULD HOLD 16 QUARTS WITH A HEATER AND THE GAS TANK HELD 17 GALLONS. AS YOU CAN SEE WITH THIS VIDEO THIS RARE PANEL TRUCK HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS. THERE IS RUST ALL OVER, DINGS, DENTS, BROKEN GLASS, AND SEE-THROUGH RUST HOLES. RIGHT NOW IT JUST LOOKS LIKE A RUST BUCKET. BUT IMAGINE WHAT THIS PANEL TRUCK WILL LOOK LIKE WHEN IT'S RESTORED. A TRULY RARE POST-WAR PANEL TRUCK THIS IS. Another rare vehicle brought to you by 55lincoln.

  • I have a 1947 Dodge panel truck that has bus type doors, does anyone know the designation or model of the truck. I call it a milk truck ,but it began it's duty as a delivery van for a local dry cleaning company.Any help would be appriciated

  • @milktruck1947 I wish I had more resources on trucks. I don't know designation or model of this truck and I wish I could help you with your rare Dodge truck. If I do find info that you need, I will let you know. Best of luck.

  • Lots of work but restorable by the looks of it !

I am currenty in the process of restoring a '41 california built WC37 panel.

I think the only differences are the horizontal chrome strips in the lower grille and a T-112 218 cu/in engine (?)

I feel i have saved it from the hot-rod scene and hope this one will also make it .

(Sorry hot- rod guys but i feel there is just to much history involved to get creative on these beautiful workingclass oldies )

  • @MollyRatchet Good for you wanting to restore to original. Already too many of these Dodge panel trucks have been customized or rat-rod. And, you're right. You are looking at history when you see one like this needing restoration to original or one that has been restored to factory specs. So good luck to you with your restoration project.

  • I just bought a '47 dodge panel in little better shape, in retoration process as we speak. great seeing one on here, will get mine up when completed

  • @badseedcustom Hey! Good for you to acquire a rare panel truck. I bet it's in better shape than this one. Hope to see it on the Internet some day. Thanks for commenting and if you have time when you're not restoring your truck, subscribe to my car videos on channel 55lincoln.

  • @1939PlymouthRatRod2 Thats is absolutely fantastic. Right hand drive yet. If you have a video of it on the U, I will definetly watch it. Thanks for sharing from down under.

  • @55lincoln

You might have guessed that i'm not from the US

Our panel came from California via York U.K. to Holland .

It is black / blue and had " Barney Steele's bar and grille" on the side.

It must have been standing years in front of a restaurant somewhere near Redwood City

I know it's a long shot but i am very curious if someone out there has more info

about the story behind this truck .

  • @3rdStreetStudio Thank U 3rd street.

  • @leadfoots70 I'll drink to that!
