@gkatta - Clearly there is a question about the authority of congress to reform healthcare. It is not included in the delegated powers of Congress in Article 1, Section 8, and only the broadest incorrect interpretation of the commerce clause would allow such reform. That interpretation would also allow congress to regulate health care in foreign countries. The clause was meant to stop states from enacting tariffs on goods from other states. It's not about race, it's about limited government.

@LiberalGamer At least Bush had Congress's approval. 0bama declared war w/o declared war (oops, I mean "kintetic military operation") without even asking Congress. The bastard has yet to still ask Congress.

The question Nancy is ....ARE YOU SERIOUS?????? Maybe you should get botox injected into your brain next time so it "freezes" it due to the fact you spew the dumbest things out of it!
-
@LiberalGamer The federal gov has NO right to FORCE citizens to buy anything or get fined and punished if they do not. Please stop the spin, it only makes you look more of an idiot than you already are.
-
"I took an oath to defend the constitution when I took office" "What, are you serious?"

@AwakenAmerica Speaker Pelosi was merely using a rhetorical device! Scoffing is perfectly legitimate, when being asked a question for which you have no reasonable answer.

@wincelet So all the other times she shows disdain for the constitution and reasonable policy for US citizens, the questions are being posed unfairly and in an attacking manner? That's politics, its her job to provide an answer regardless, and politicians for that matter. To me it sounds like a fair and simple, if no biased question, she should have answered. She didn't answer because, it does not say anywhere in the Constitution that you can Mandate Healthcare, and punish a citizen for not buy

@LiberalGamer: Here's the passage you cite: "All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives." This sentence does not determine what legislative powers the states and the people grant to to the federal gov't--only that, whatever they are, they belong to the House & Senate.So it doesn't determine whether the fed govt has the power to pass ObamaCare or not. You should read more carefully.
@wincelet
@wincelet It makes no difference whether there was health insurance back then or not. The constitution enumerates the powers of the Federal govt. Changes to it can only be made through amendments but politicians get around that by ignoring the constitution. It was a simple question that should have been asked long ago. She should be able to defend the constitutionality of any legislation she backs because she took an oath to uphold the constitution.

Yes Nancy Pelosi. Please tell us where you can legally force people to buy health insurance. Because if the government can force us to buy health insurance they could force us to buy anything.
