  • I noticed as he started the punches up the front, he Kia'd on the 1st punch. Is that the correct spot? i noticed most Kias happen on a 3rd punch in a series like that in most other katas.

  • @DeadpoolAndFriends The kiai varies with each kata, since some have a single forward attack, but those that have multiples get the kiai on the last of the combo.

  • @hempev lol so he was supposed to kiai on the 3rd of that 3 punch combination instead of the first?

  • @DeadpoolAndFriends That depends on what you choose for the bunkai - if there is a forward attack that is the end of a series, it may still be the one with a kiai, even if there are the same kind of attack immediately after it.

  • @dpapaioannow The purpose of Kata and Bunkai is stance and getting to know your weapon. If you want to learn Nunchaku, start with the basics. What you're getting at is. "Let's put our students against trained fighters and see what happens...screw training..screw patience..and screw the initial art form altogether." I'm glad you're not an instructor..you'd get people killed or seriously injured.

  • This is how you REALLY use nunchuku!! All the yuotube video people do so much pointless flash and twirling like bataon girls.

  • @dpapaioannow If you don't know what the Japanese term is, why do you act like you do? Do you even know the scene I am talking about, where the samurai are directed through a door and only the true warriors know there is someone waiting to hit them, and even which side he is on? I doubt you have been taught anything about budo by a Japanese - it's those types that act this way. Respond with another childish post and this thread will be erased, reply with some thought and it becomes a discussion.

  • @hempev uuuuhhhhmmm yeeeeahhh riiiiiiiighttttttt.......did you just put a fricking movie and real life in the same scenario?....sa ki?i know sake...its good,sake=good,bullshido?...not good

  • @dpapaioannow It is kata and bunkai, not "real life"; if you have what is known as "sa ki", you know when you are about to be attacked (there is a scene in Seven Samurai based on this concept).

  • how will you know when someone is going to attack you behind your back?when you cant see him?or when you are busy fighting with the other one you are seeing?
