@72metallicafan: See, the thing you're missing here is that it runs WINDOWS!! Try making a movie in Windows Movie Maker. Go for it. Plus you are getting an underpowered processor with a slower bus speed. So yeah, You have fun with that $450 you save.

now tell me....would any high budget movie director ever make a movie with windows movie maker? no thats why they use other software.

Neither you would do a high budget movie with imovie, and you can get Avid Media Composer which actually IS the standard in both platforms and you would still save $450 if you choose the PC anyway. Still its just a matter of taste and you can do excellent works in both platforms.

I do a lot of work in blender & gimp on my computer, and I've never used more than a GB of ram (no swap). If I really need more speed rendering, I just setup a rendering farm with a bunch of old junkers. The computer only cost me about 200 bucks (100 computer + ~100 graphics card + spare parts I already had).
