Please add "nologo" "true" to your xorg.conf

it takes quite a long time to start up.... ubuntu it's so much faster....
and i'm telling you from and old pc(2002 amd xp 2000)

Ubuntu was originally going to include Plymouth in 9.10 (Karmic), but they decided that since they were focusing on boot speed, Plymouth wasn't really necessary.

Actually, no, it doesn't. But at any rate, what's so good about Plymouth? Why should anyone not oozing nerdiness care?

My Ubuntu 8.10 boot is 27 seconds after GRUB.. :)

But your Ubuntu needs more time to start the application, after the proper startup. Thus, the same goes.
