So touching... I volunteer at a shelter, and fell in love this a black pitbull named Diamond. She was the sweetest girl in the world.

Sadly, no one adopted her, and after months of being stressed out in the shelter, she became dog aggressive, and found that she was no longer adoptable, so they had to put her to sleep.

My heart just aches when I watched this. :o(

The best dog I ever owned was a Shep. that was about 80% black with a small amount of dark red and brown on him. He was fantastic!!!!

I had no idea about this problem. I have Black and Yellow Labs and never knew there was a stigma at shelters for black dogs. Typically human. I've had 3 Black Labs over my life and each was the sweetest of dogs.

I adopted a black stray dog and he is the sweetest, most gentle, loving boy ever! I do have problems getting a nice pic of him but I am learning. I have have 3 black cats and they made our lives more special and were not at all unlucky. Black dogs are not bad dogs.

I work at Petsmart & we work with our local animal shelters & I always show the black babies first & explain Black dog/cat Syndrome. I always make it a point if I adopt to look at the black animals first....my black cat is a shelter kitty. She had everything against her, but i saved her from death row....black, old, & health problems

I volunteer at a shelter (they get on average 7000 animals a year) and fell in love with a gorgeous Pitbull/labrador mix. He was the sweetest thing I ever met ! Both my boyfriend and I loved him so dearly. We could do anything we wanted with him. He was learning fast ! (I have a short video of him on my account). Unfortunalety, after a year, they decided to put him down. If only I wasn't a student.. If only people knew .. RIP Tyson <3 Black dogs are the best <3 !

I just went to the shelter yesterday looking for a cat, online I looked at all the tabbies, and other cats, but I remembered this video and when I went to the shelter I made point to find and pet the black cats too. I ended up adopting a black cat who was born in the shelter and had been waiting for 1.5 years (!) for someone to stop and notice how sweet she is. The staff had almost given up on adopting her. So glad she had the patience to wait that long for me! Adopt Black. Never go back!

I have had black dogs and the are just as warm and affectionate as others. Now I have a black cat and he is just the cuddly in the bed with me. : His name is Luendo and is just great. : )
