No, it's not a porno. It is a love story with sizzling love scenes meant to portray the emotional connection and sensuality of the actors.

The ending quite baffles me.
SPOILER ALERT!
This teacher leaves the school under arrest--in the custody of an unspecified federal agency not the D.C. Police, who are uniformed.
There is no visible evidence that any crime was commited. Is the girl student underage? Doesn't look like it. Do we take it that the teacher was denounced by her student-lover? That teacher confessed to sexual acts with a minor?
Being pitched at women [good luck!] script is long on emotion, short on logic.

Financial success? I must doubt it. Even though the film cost little to produce, the distribution was very limited--almost an underground film.
Understandable. This isn't most people's idea of a date movie.
Artistic success? Good photography, acting in spots. Dumb script.

People actually really love this film and do not have the same thoughts as you on it. It has been a success both financially and artistically. Different strokes , Dude.
