Reflection - Tool

This is one of the best songs ever to listen to while laying on the floor in complete blackness. I love to play it as it is totally trance-inducing, yet changing constantly to stay interesting. Unbeknownst to me, my electronic pads had a connection malfunction during this song. You can see me hit them, but with no sound. I didn't know it until I loaded the video into my computer. Please excuse this malfunction. I also had to chop 12 seconds off the beginning to meet YouTube's 10 minute limit.

It is critical that every drummer develop their own unique style and interpretation. Therefore, I do not memorize any song exactly. I have spent 30 years playing drums and have developed my own style, which I prefer. I keep my playing within the framework of the song and will play a part exact if that part is either iconic (like Phil Collins In The Air Tonight) or critical to the success of the song.
