    Don't be thay guy. Covers are a homage. Metallica have a big resepct of Deep Purple and they do this to show it.

    It's not about which version is "better" it's about enjoying each version for what they are.

    Originals usually are better, but Metallica has done excellent covers for the last 30 years.  I think they do this justice.

    Metallica are kick ass but what happened to their tone since they got with Rick Rubin and Greg Fidelman?

    Everything brickwalled to the max, drums sound like crap, vocals have no depth/reverb, no layering of the guitars and just overall thin sounding. Just horrible production quality.

    Death Magnetic was the same way and so "Remember Tomorrow" the Iron Maiden cover.

    Time to get rid of Rubin and Fidelman or at least find someone else to handle the recording and mixing.

    The album is awesome but the mixing is sooo bad dude..all songs sounded sooo "fucking loud" you know...they pushed the songs so much digitally that every songs just makes you want to turn off the speakers exaggerated speaking.
