@champagneivy To be more specific, "macushla" isn't technically a word. It's sort of a contraction of the Gaelic "mo chuisle" which means "my pulse", andm just fyi, you pronounce it "muh hooshla".

1. "A capella" does not mean "without a microphone".... it means "with no accompanying music". Therefore, this is not a capella.
2. "Macushla" is NOT an English word for heart-throb. (See :23-:28). I will assume that this was just a slip of the tongue. I like Rufus Wainwright. "Hallelujiah" is awesome. He shouldn't be singing this song however. Just saying. If he wants to be "authentic" and "traditional" and sing it like they would when it was written (1910), he should, and not milk it.
